HSE First Aid at Work

The course aims to train employees up to the standard required by the Health and Safety Executive for the Purpose of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.


Qualification

Successful completion of the course and assessment will result in the First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for three years.

What's the First Aid at Work course about?

This course is designed to provide HSE-approved training for people intending to be first aiders in the workplace. The course is classroom based and covers all topics required to become a first aider at work.

On completion delegates will be able to:
- Appreciate the circumstances when CPR is required and implement the relevant procedures
- Manage an unconscious casualty
- Control bleeding
- Diagnose and treat other injuries and conditions

You will be assessed by practical and theoretical tests.

Which qualification will I be awarded if I successfully complete the First Aid at Work course?

You will be awarded a First Aid at Work Certificate issued in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This is valid for three years, after which holders must take a refresher course.
